SUPER FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS JUNE 14, 2022: CREATING FREEDOM IN YOUR OWN LIFE

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

Happy SuperMoon in Sagittarius! This Super Full Moon at approximately 23 degrees of Sagittarius becomes exact at 7:52 AM New York time (11:52 GMT) on Tuesday, June 14. As a reminder, a SuperMoon occurs when the moon is physically closer to the Earth than usual, thus amplifying its effects.

Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign that brings an energy of play, passion and spontaneity to the Zodiac. Ruled by optimistic, auspicious Jupiter, The Archer serves as a reminder that a life without spontaneity, risks or new experiences is a boring one. Sagittarius reminds us to go after what we really want in life, unapologetically—and to not be afraid to take some risks on the way there.

Sagittarius is represented by a centaur that is known as 'the learned healer'. A centaur is strong, noble, and totally unafraid to go after what he wants in life. Being half horse, he is also free to move about as he wishes, quickly galloping to his desired destinations.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and also rules the 9th House in astrology. The 9th House is known as the House of Philosophy, and is the house of higher learning, philosophy, adventure, long-distance travel, luck, and more. This Full Moon brings with it the themes of expansion, freedom, and higher learning/higher knowledge.

Sagittarius is one of the signs of the Zodiac that really emphasizes freedom. The Archer prefers to roam free and untied. One of the things to focus on during and after this Full Moon is how you can bring more freedom, passion and exploration into your experience of life.

CREATING FREEDOM IN YOUR OWN LIFE

Each and every one of us is an eternal creator being playing in this third-dimensional game for fun, experience and service. This Full Moon chart really emphasizes the ‘fun’ part.

With freedom-loving Uranus currently conjunct the North Node of the moon in Taurus, this Full Moon cycle encourages us to be courageous, daring, and to express freedom in our lives, in order to step more fully into the higher destiny of our soul in this earthly incarnation.

With the sun trining and the moon sextiling the exalted Saturn—as it starts to speed up into its Retrograde phase—the things that we do to create more freedom in our life now could really set us up for a wonderful, sustainable future in our own lives.

Here are some journal prompts to help you navigate the theme of freedom in your life:

  • In what ways have I been feeling stifled or stuck in life? Take into account all areas of your life: relationships; career; finances; health; and your inner world.

  • How could I allow for just a little bit more of a sense of freedom and spontaneity in my life while still keeping a healthy structure that allows me to grow long-term?

  • What parts of me feel old and need to go? Have I been playing an old character? What kind of things trigger me into playing an old character? Which sorts of people trigger me into playing an old character? Is there anything stopping me from letting these aspects go and stepping into a new recreation of myself?

  • What gives me a feeling of fire and passion? How could I structure my life in a practical way to allow more time to pursue and experience my passions?

FEELING STUCK? DON'T FORGET TO MIX THINGS UP!

One of the themes that everyone experiences at one point or another is stagnation. When your energy stagnates, you're likely to experience bouts of depression and anxiety. If you feel like you've been stagnating lately—or even if you haven't—it's best to utilize the energy of Sagittarius to bring some adventure and variety into your life.

The Universe will often keep us in a situation where we feel stuck and stifled so that the frustration builds up so much that we finally take a leap of faith and make a big change in our lives. Undoubtedly, there will be choice points in your Life Plan where your Higher Self will nudge you to take a leap of faith. Courage usually pays off.

If it's not the time for you to make a big change, then you can shake things up in smaller ways. Perhaps you can go for a hike in a place you haven't been before; cultivate a garden; write a book; start a new workout routine; learn tai chi or yoga; make art; learn an instrument remotely; make a new friend over the Internet; change up the furniture in your house; clean up your house; design an app or a video game; start a YouTube channel; or plan a fun outing with friends or family to a place you haven’t been to yet.

It doesn't always take a huge change in your life to shake off that sense of stagnation. That is more often the exception rather than the rule. For most of us, the best way to integrate the Sagittarian energy is to add spontaneity in little ways. Here are some additional suggestions:

  • Wear some clothing you haven't worn in a while or thrift shop for clothing online

  • Take a different route on your daily walk

  • Concoct something new in the kitchen

  • Change up something about your physical appearance

  • Get a new pet (but make sure you're committed!)

READING, STUDYING, PHILOSOPHIZING

As the ruler of the 9th House, the House of Philosophy, Sagittarius is the philosopher of the Zodiac Wheel. During the days around and following this Full Moon, it is a great time to do some reading and studying of spiritual books, and to ponder/philosophize on the bigger questions in life.

FEELING SENSITIVE; BEWARE OF ILLUSIONS

With the sun and moon squaring an exalted Neptune in its home sign of Pisces, we may be feeling extra emotionally sensitive. Be gentle with one another at this time.

Also, it’s wise to beware of falling into illusions that can come from the mind. This would not be the best time to do plant medicines.

A DIVINELY-GUIDED ROMANTIC ENCOUNTER?

An exalted Venus in its home sign of Taurus makes a couple of interesting aspects in this Full Moon chart. It lies very close to the North Node of the moon—representing our soul’s destiny—and also just under three degrees from Uranus. The vibe here is of a divinely-guided romantic encounter—an important relationship that is ‘meant’ for you.

So if you’ve been single and desiring to meet someone, perhaps it might be a good idea to ‘put yourself out there’ a little more than usual, and see what comes your way!

However, it’s also wise to be aware that Venus also squares a now-Retrograde (and exalted) Saturn in Aquarius. So, there could be past-life karma to be worked through with the divinely-guided romantic encounter. And, for those couples that are in romantic partnerships, ‘stuff’ from the past could come up to be worked through.

Mercury trines Pluto in this Full Moon chart, making it an auspicious time to have productive conversations about deep-seated issues. But also Mercury squares the exalted Saturn, meaning these deep-seated issues could cause people to get triggered, and be muddy to work through.

But if you are able to successfully talk through the ‘stuff’ as a couple, it will likely set you up for a future where you are both helping support each others’ highest destinies in this life. With the sun trining and the moon sextiling the exalted Saturn, the inner (and outer) work that we do now could really set us up for an amazing, enduring future.

Wishing you a wonderful Full Moon in Sagittarius!

With Love,

Matthew John
