Happy SuperMoon in Aquarius! This Super Full Moon became exact at 9:35 PM New York time on Thursday, August 11, 2022 (01:35 GMT on August 12).
As a reminder, a Supermoon occurs when the moon is physically closer to the earth than usual, thus amplifying its effects.
Aquarius is a fixed air sign that is associated with equality, group consciousness, technology, and the Higher Mind. It is represented symbolically by the 'water bearer'--a healer that pours healing waters onto the land to reach everyone and everything. It is an optimistic sign that reminds us of our highest potential, especially in groups and as one collective human race.
We are reminded that even when it seems like we are all alone, we really aren't, because we are all spiritual beings having a human experience--and we are inseparable from the collective consciousness of our human race on this planet.
Aquarius is the ruler of the 11th House: the House of Friends. This house rules over how we relate to groups and includes the themes of friendship, collective mindsets, social circles and colleagues.
With the sun now in its home sign of Leo—where it is joined by Venus--we are seeing the Leo-Aquarius polarity play out strongly. The influences of the sun and Venus traveling through the masculine, fixed fire sign of Leo causes us to want to naturally step into our most charismatic, beautiful, and talented selves—the best version of the ego-self that we can present to the world.
The opposition between the sun and moon creates the opportunity to explore the balance between self and other, as well as between self and the group. Leo the Lion personifies the need of the self to express through the creation of an ego. Ego is not at its core a bad thing; rather, it is the vehicle for which the soul gets to experience an earthly personality. That energy is opposed by the moon and the Retrograde Saturn in Aquarius, which are showing us how we can experience being a part of a group and a collective.
The Aquarian energy requires teamwork to really thrive. We are all individuals on individual healing journeys, but we are also one collective on a collective Ascension journey. It is not possible to separate yourself from the whole.
How are you contributing to the healing of the planet and of the human race on a daily basis? The more you are contributing, then naturally the more whole you are going to feel, because you will be fulfilling the exact mission you came here to realize.
Do you make time on a daily basis to do something nice for someone else, or to say something nice to a fellow human? Do you make it a habit to wish people around you blessings of healing or happiness? Are you a good listener? Are you willing to hear others' perspectives? Do you donate money or time to help those in need at least once in awhile?
Unlike Leo, where the inflated ego is celebrated, Aquarius encourages the deflation of egos so that the many can merge into the one. This is the energetic trajectory of our planet, as we are in the planetary Age of Aquarius.
This Full Moon chart contains a number of tense, difficult aspects. The sun and moon almost exactly square Uranus (the ruler of Aquarius) in Taurus. The fatherly sun and motherly moon also square the North Node—the signifier of the collective destiny of the human race at this time—also in fixed, stubborn, earthly Taurus.
The sun also opposes the Retrograde Saturn in Aquarius, which makes a tense, difficult square to Uranus. Saturn and Uranus have been squaring one another lately--the most recent being at the end of 2021/very beginning of 2022.
Fiery Mars in fixed, stubborn Taurus also sqaures the sun and Saturn. So all in all, there is a lot of ‘pressure cooker energy’ in the stars right now. Since both the sun in Leo (representing the individual) and the moon in Aquarius (representing the collective) are involved in the squares, this tension can affect both the collective and your individual lives.
Saturn is the planet of stability and also karma, but is currently transiting the sign of Aquarius, which is naturally optimistic and has to do with the needs and desires of the collective. With it conjunct the Full Moon, we have the opportunity to create structures for the future as a planetary collective that will serve us well. However, with the sun, moon, and Saturn squaring the North Node of the moon, these opportunities for the growth and transformation of structures may come through difficulties.
With the North Node being in the fixed earth sign of Taurus, which is the primary sign that rules over finance, I suspect that we will see some sort of real-world sign of the developing worldwide recession pop up over the next 28 days.
What this could be, is hard to say. Yesterday’s news of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropping sent the stock market and cryptocurrency market soaring. It’s possible it could be short-termed optimism and things start to tank in those areas, or it could be something that occurs outside the U.S.; I’m not really sure.
On a personal level, the powerful triple-North Node square may serve to bring up karmas from past lives and earlier in this life that will assist in rerouting your life back onto your ideal preformed Life Plan.
Basically, if you feel like you have gotten off-path lately, the Universe (especially with Uranus’s powerful influence) may have some surprises in store for you: events or relationships with karma attached to them that could be powerful teachers to assist you in navigating your Soul Lessons (the stuff you literally came into this life to learn!)
Being in a personal energy of surrender when you can is a really good idea at this time. Every Full Moon, when I walk outside and look at the Full Moon, I surrender myself to her. I ask her to take whatever I no longer need from me, in order so that I can progress to the next level of my Ascension.
Being in a sense of surrender over the next 28 days is a good idea, because with fiery Mars, stubborn/karmic Saturn and unpredictable Uranus all having major influences here, it’s very possible your life could go in unplanned directions. And even if nothing unpredictable happens to you over the next 28 days, it’s a wonderful spiritual lesson to be in a state of surrender, and to let yourself be guided by the wise, patient, eternal part of self—taking one day at a time. You can’t really go wrong as far as your spiritual journey goes if you’re in that state.
If you feel you’ve gotten off path, ask yourself and journal on these questions:
-- Deep down, what do I feel my path is supposed to look like/feel like?
-- Why have I gone off path? What am I afraid of?
-- What do I have to let go of, to get back on my path?
-- Is there a part of me that is OK going on without the things I know I must let go of? How do I access that part more? How do I let go of fear? 10:24
As a general rule, remember the more time that you spend accessing your wiser self (the Higher Self is a pretty good term for this part of us), the easier it will be for you to step out of fear and into where you’re meant to be (your destiny).
The more activities that you undertake on a daily basis that put you into that elevated state, the easier it will be to spend more time in that state. So much of spiritual evolution/Ascension is in the day-to-day, 6th House stuff. Like, did you do your yoga practice or meditation today or not? How did doing it or not doing it affect your state of consciousness the rest of the day?
With Mars, the planet of war and conflict, squaring Saturn, the ruler of structures (including governmental), we have an astrological war element at play. The Russo-Ukrainian War is continuing, despite less news coverage. People are still dying at an alarming rate due to the conflict. With this powder keg astrological aspect, it’s possible that either the conflict expands, or a different geopolitical conflict around the world becomes militaristic over the next 28 days. It’s more important than ever that we pray for world peace as Lightworkers and Wayshowers. With the Full Moon in Aquarius here, joining in meditation/visualization groups would be super powerful!
It’s also important to avoid angry people, as with Jupiter Retrograde in Mars-ruled Aries to boot, there is a fiery, potentially violent astrological energy in the air right now.
With Mars squaring the sun and Saturn, many people will be overdoing it physically and feeling burned out. Please remember to sleep enough and get adequate rest over the next 28 days. You don’t want to have your immune system become overrun by a virus or bacterial infection because you’re burned out physically. That sort of thing is probably more apt to happen with all the Mars squares. In essence: take it easy.
Mars does have one major benevolent influence in this Full Moon chart, as it trines the Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. With this aspect, inspired action over the next 28 days could lead to sustained success and overcoming major life obstacles. Just don’t take unnecessary risks, as I will explain next.
With Mars being in Taurus, it is the perfect time to overcome deep-seated obstacles related to finance.

Mars also has a more minor benevolent aspect, as it forms an opportunistic sextile to dreamy Neptune, which is Retrograde in its home sign of Pisces. Now is an amazing time to make art! If you are the artsy type, try to bring your dreams and visions down to earth--onto a canvas or a piece of paper. Venus in Leo also forms a wide trine (five degrees-plus) to Neptune, corroborating the great opportunity to make art here.
Uranus is the ‘wild card’ of the planets. Its influence can be erratic and unpredictable. Squaring the moon—the astrological celestial body in charge of emotions—we can expect to experience big mood swings around this Full Moon—and to a lesser extent, over the next 28 days.
It would be wise to think twice before taking any major risks over the next 28 days. Uranus’s influence can cause accidents. Be extra careful on the roads; drive the speed limit.
You very well might encounter others experiencing erratic or irrational emotions over the next 28 days. It is probably a time to be extra tolerant of others (as long as you’re not being abused). Picking fights with others would be really easy at this time—but those fights may unnecessarily harm relationships. With Uranus’s strong influence here, you should definitely pause and think twice before saying anything hurtful or reacting with anger to anyone in your life.
On the positive side, the Uranus square can force you out of a funk. If you feel intuitively called to do something totally different (especially with your aesthetics, with the sun and Venus being in show-off Leo), then do it!
FROM MARTYRDOM TO SELF-LOVE
The dark side of Aquarius is the trap of martyrdom. Can you recall a time in your life when you've fell into that trap? Do you know people in your life who are constantly allowing themselves to sink into martyrdom?
The real culprit in martyrdom is what lies beneath it and creates it: a low sense of self-worth. When you truly value yourself, you will never find yourself sinking into martyrdom, victimhood or codependency. When one truly finds their self-worth, they realize deeply that that feeling of worth can never be found in other people. You must realize that your so-called faults, deficiencies or shortcomings are beautiful and divine.
It is easy to pick yourself apart, but it takes discipline, dedication and courage to lift yourself up. This is a vital part of the Ascension game—to learn to step out of self-criticism and looking for fulfillment outside the self, and into self-appreciation and a healthy self-esteem that comes from within.
During Leo season, it is the best time ever to unleash the most charismatic and unique aspects of your personality, whether it be with others, on social media, or literally just in the mirror. If you can learn to truly enjoy your own company, then you will never be alone, regardless of who comes into or exits your life.
If, however, you've found yourself in a state of martyrdom or codependency with someone in your life, then cutting cords can be a helpful exercise.
Cutting (or better off, removing) cords between yourself and another works, though the caveat is that if there are still emotions like martyrdom, jealousy, resentment, overattachment, etc. present then the cords will come right back. It's the emotions and beliefs about another person's role in your life that keep the cords in place.
Which people in your life do you intuitively feel you have negative cords with? These people are most often parents, partners, ex-partners, close friends, and business associates. This Aquarian energy is encouraging us to free ourselves from negative cords with others.
Please note that cutting negative cords with someone doesn't mean your relationship with that person necessarily ends. Cutting cords tends to improve relationships, though if there's someone that is consistently treating you in a way you don't deserve, then cutting them out of your life may be necessary, as cutting cords may not change much (and if you do cut them out of your life, then it's wise to still cut cords anyways).
With Venus opposing Pluto in this Full Moon chart, power struggles are going to be amplified in all relationships (not just romantic).
Power struggles in relationships are pretty much always toxic. Power struggles are very different than a conscious and consensual exchange of power, such as in a romantic relationship, one partner agreeing to be the primary financial provider, and the other agreeing to be the homemaker.
If you are in a toxic relationship where power is being misused on you, this Venus-Pluto opposition is a great astrological invitation to get out. With all the Mars and Uranus action, though, there could be some pretty intense fights—so for anyone stuck in an abusive relationship, make sure you just get out and don’t subject yourself to the potential of violence.
You can cut cords on your own using meditation. My favorite method is to literally call upon Archangel Michael to come forth and cut and remove each negative cord from each chakra that has one (usually there will be a cord in each of the lower five chakras, but not always).
Please note that if you cut cords with another but don't deal with the feelings that created the cords in the first place, then the cords will come right back. The trick is to identify which resentments you are holding against that person, or if there's guilt, jealousy, overattachment, fear or martyrdom present. Freeing yourself from these feelings will free yourself from the cords. The most powerful route to this freedom is through true forgiveness.
VENUS-PLUTO OPPOSITION: LUST IS IN THE AIR
Venus in fun, center-of-attention, aesthetically-obsessed Leo making an out-of-sign opposition to the Retrograde, Scorpio-Ruled Pluto in Capricorn and sexually-charged Mars in show-off Leo trining Pluto means there is a feeling of lust in the air. You may feel an intense attraction to someone around this time. The danger is people may be blinded by peoples’ good looks, or by an initial attraction, especially with Venus also trining Neptune, as I mentioned before.
This opposition is one that will likely bring out both charm and manipulation in manipulative power-hungry people—so be discerning. If you feel super attracted/lustful toward someone around this time, then try to bring yourself down to earth and make sure you are attracted to someone on the inside--and that a potential relationship with them would make sense--before falling too far headfirst into lust. (Unless casual sexual relationships are your thing—then by all means, go for it; just be wise/discerning there too.)
On the positive side, this lustful opportunity will likely bring together many new couples that are meant to experience some sort of romantic Soul Contract together! The initial sparks will be strong at this time. Meeting someone at a concert or a party will be ideal, with Venus in Leo.
Couples are likely going to find themselves having a higher libido over the next 28 days, and many couples may feel the desire to enhance sexual polarity (this is of the realm of Pluto). When done in a healthy way, this sort of thing can enhance relationship quality—and especially rescue dull, stale relationships and marriages.
CREATING A WORLD OF EQUALITY
The dualistic age of Pisces officially gave way to the New (Golden) Age of Aquarius on December 21, 2012. Over the next few decades, we will see all of the systems of control on this planet—which were built to drain vital life energy from the people—shift to supportive, life-giving structures of governance and economics. We will see our planet transform from a toxic, polluted place where the majority of the population is sickly, underfed, or depressed--into a clean, healed world where all people live in peace and harmony and have more than enough to not just survive, but to thrive.
The 5th-dimensional energies of acceptance, nonjudgement, compassion, and service-to-other send out the frequency of Unity, which energetically creates a supportive Field for more and more beings to wake up, through the Hundredth Monkey Syndrome.
This is precisely what is happening now. Every time you help someone out of the kindness of your Heart; every time you love the earth; and every time you visualize world peace and healing for the planet, you are contributing to the frequency of Love that will literally free HU-manity from hundreds of thousands of years (or longer) of energetic slavery through the mass awakening of an entire planet of beings.
Chances are we still have some tough years ahead of us as a human race, but we are going to be the ones who will build the New Earth, through Love, Unity, Innovation and Willpower.
So, let's focus on teamwork, collaboration, and connection over the next 28 days. Step outside of your comfort zone to connect with others where there might be surface-level differences. Pray for and visualize the healing and Unity of humanity. Post positive, uplifting, and enlightening things on social media. Make others feel welcome and appreciated. Dish out compliments left and right—put a smile on others' faces.
